ISC’s Urban Scholars program provides Micro-Scholarships to academically promising young men and women in the US to help them complete their college degrees and mentoring to inspire them to assume leadership roles in their communities. These micro-scholarships of $500 to $1500 are paid directly to the colleges that ISC’s urban scholars are enrolled in and our mentoring efforts provide students with access to business, nonprofit and government leaders.
Many of our urban scholars start their college careers at a serious financial disadvantage as more than 60% come from families with annual incomes less than $30,000. And most continue to be challenged to meet their financial obligations semester after semester.
Below is a list of ISC programs at a glance:
1Sustainable Advertising Partnership: advertising industry initiative supported by Ad-ID and responsible brand leaders.
2ECO360TRUST: campaign to raise awareness and put sustainability principles into practice.
3SOSreach: grassroots movement to improve the economic, environmental and social quality of life for young people.
4NYU/SCPS Seminar Series: seminars and events on sustainable communication media and supply chain management.
5Urban Scholars: scholarship program which enables urban students to complete undergraduate and graduate degrees.
6ISCreach: outreach program that stimulates classroom discussion on sustainability in higher education.
